Having only cleared a vehicle fire in McAdams at 11:00 pm, County Firefighters were again called out for a report of a vehicle fire, this time in Sallis. The call came in to 911 Communications at 1:00 am and units were dispatched to Hwy 429 near where Long Horn's Steak House used to stand. Audio The caller said they could not advise if anyone was around the vehicle. Units from Central and Sallis Stations responded along with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Attala Deputy Tim Nail. Nail was first to arrive on scene and notified fire personnel that the vehicle was full engulfed in flames. He searched the area but was unable to find anyone from the vehicle. Authorities were able to get the license plate and when the tag was run it came back registered on a white 1996 Nissan Maxima registered to a Kendrick Tyrone Lusk. Audio The fire cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire personnel cleared the scene at 1:54 am.

At 10:42 pm MedStat, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Attala Fire and Rescue along with Sallis Volunteers responded to an MVA on Hwy 14 West at the Attala and Holmes county line. Dispatch was unable to advise if there were any injuries. Audio All reports were unable to advise if the crash took place in Attala or Holmes county. Sallis Volunteers arrived on the location and said it was at the bridge on the county line and that the vehicle had struck the guard rail on one the bridge on the Holmes county side. Unit 401 notified responding personnel that there were two patients in need of medical attention. One with left should pain and one with difficulty breathing. Medical crews arrived and called for MedStat Air to fly in to the location and airlift a 21 year old female to the University Medical Center in Jackson. Emergency responders set up an "LZ" (landing Zone) on the two lane Highway, completely shutting the road down. After loading the patient the Air unit was landing at the University Medical Center at 12:30 am. The second patient was taken to Montfort Jones Hospital. The full extent of the patients injuries is unknown at this time. The is no work, as of news time, what caused the accident. The Mississippi Highway patrol is in charge of the investigation.

At 5:28 pm MedStat, MHP, Attala Fire, McCool Volunteers along with Weir Fire responded to a one vehicle MVA on Hwy 12 East approximately two miles from the Choctaw county line. Choctaw 911 advised it was a rollover and the patient was ejected from the car. MedStat Air was auto-launched to be en-route for transport. First responders on scene advised that the driver was out of the vehicle and was not ejected from the vehicle. When emergency personnel arrived they found the Toyota Camry that had left the roadway and climbed an embankment hitting trees before coming to rest on its top. The female patient was transported to Montfort Jones Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

At 8:59 MedStat, Attala Fire and Rescue along with Attala County Deputies resounded to a report of an MVA at the Attala and Leake line. The crash was said to be located behind Ford's Grocery. Audio Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find a Ford Ranger pickup that had left the roadway and coming to rest on its side. Audio No one was found in the vehicle and crews search the surrounding woods. Audio Deputies soon advised that the subjects were located at the County Line Store. We don't believe anyone was transported to the hospital. Attala 4 and 15 took one subject into custody at 10:10 pm. Although unconfirmed, we believe this to be related to the crash.

At 6:37 pm MedStat, Attala Fire, The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Attala Deputies along with Emergency Crews from Leake County responded to a two vehicle MVA rollover. The caller advised it was at the Attala and Leake county line on Hwy 35 South. Audio Responding personnel arrived on scene to find two vehicle off the roadway and down an embankment. A Ford pickup had rolled and came to rest on its top. A Buick LeSabre was on its wheels but with heavy front end damage. Ambulance crews transported one patient, but possibly two to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Oktibbeha County, Miss. - (WTVA) The Bell Schoolhouse community was one of the hardest hit areas in Oktibbeha County during Saturday's storms. Strong winds tore apart a trailer and slammed the debris against nearby trees. Neighbors say the home was an unoccupied rental property. Several people in the community say they believe a tornado is reponsible for the damage. Power crews were also working nearby to repair downed powerlines. The weather also damaged some buildings at a residence. Homeowners found tin wrapped around a power pole and more tin scattered across the yard. Residents say they're thankful no one was hurt.

At 10:50 p.m Leake County notified Attala County that they were in pursuit of a vehicle on Hwy 35 South traveling North approaching Attala County. Communications relayed the transmission to City and county Officers. Carthage Police, Leake County Deputies, Attala Deputies and MHP were all involved in the chase. Units in pursuit stated that the vehicle was red or maroon and had a stolen license plate. It was soon reported that all units were approximately 4 miles inside of Attala county headed North on 35. Attala deputies soon joined in the chase passing by Hwy 19 still traveling north at a high rate of speed. Deputy Faulkner stated to Attala 1 that they were on Hwy 35 Bypass coming into Kosciusko. Sheriff William Lee advised his units not to in danger anyone. The chase continued to the Hwy 12 and 35 intersection where the vehicle blew through the three way stop and into the drive at the coliseum. The vehicle then continued on into the field grass by the football field, breaking through the fence, slamming into a storage building before flipping and bursting into flames. MHP D-24 requested the Kosciusko Fire Department to the football field for a vehicle fire. The occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot. According to bystanders on scene, it was reported to have had two subjects in the vehicle. Firefighters were quickly on scene and had the fire contained at 11:02 p.m. Communications received a call that a black male was walking onto the property of Glendale Apartments with blood on his face and had on only his under clothes. Officers quickly converged on the area and reported they had the subject in custody. Med-Stat was called to Glendale. At 11:30, medical personnel transported a 22 year old male to Montfort Jones Hospital with forearm and leg abrasions and a small laceration to the right ear. The VIN on the vehicle came back to 1995 Buick Century registered to a Cora Jones (or Joe) from Canton Ms. The tag that was displayed on the vehicle was a stolen tag from a 1996 Jeep registered to a Terrence Rivers from Pickens, Ms.
